Methodology: Step by Step

Knowing that the intelligent use of data is the main value proposition that Galde offers, the methodology that we use in our processes is presented below.

Each business environment (SMEs or larger companies) is completely different. And trying to give the exact same answer to all of them is an impossible mission, as well as useless. For this reason, Galde first analyzes the initial situation or starting context of the business.

Through this analysis, 3 factors are identified that will directly affect both the methods to be applied and the expected profitability of the investment made in the project with Galde. The factors are:

  1. Business Culture.
  2. Business Strategy.
  3. Available Business Technology.

Once the starting context is understood, the question(s) to be solved with the project are identified, so that by solving said question(s) the expected improvements and economic returns can be obtained.

Business leadership might already know the question they want to solve. If so, Galde will accompany in this definition of the question and will start from it. Otherwise, Galde will suggest questions to be solved based on aspects detected in the observation of the Initial Situation step.

Having clarified the goal of the data analysis, Galde will proceed to execute a consultancy of the necessary requirements to carry out the project. Within these requirements, and depending on the Initial Situation of the company, there may be more or less work to be carried out considering a complete data analysis process, The steps of a usual process can be the following:

  • Detection of Data Collection Sources (Input).
  • Harmonization of Multiple Data Inputs.
  • Cleaning and Exploration of said data, with the aim of recognizing patterns in them.
  • Ideation of the Data Model.
  • Development and Testing of the Data Modeling.
  • Display of the Modeling (Output) of the data.
  • Suggestions of Insights’ Applications from the Output.

Having detected the previous actions to be carried out, Galde will carry out those that are relevant to the business. As indicated in the previous steps of Requirements Consulting, they generally involve the preparation and exploration of the data, the development of one or more models to get to the final solution, and a deployment of said solution.

Here we can find several types of solutions, such as:

  • Visualization: Dashboards that allow you to analyze a specific process.
  • Launching alarms: Creation of alarms that allow the warning of atypical dynamics of a specific process.
  • Optimization proposals: Creation of specific scripts that can automate certain tasks of a business process.

Insight: The ability to have a clear, deep, and sometimes sudden understanding of a complicated problem or situation. – Cambridge Dictionary

Once all the work has been done and with the information analyzed and processed, Galde’s client business will have insights or facts that can allow it to have a better understanding of its reality.

At that moment, Galde, accompanied by other partners, including, for example, a strategic consulting company, will be able to advise the business to be able to take those insights into action, and thereby generate transformation with them.

However, the improvement can be constant. It is (very) likely that when changes are triggered and implemented, the client business will have modified its 3 essential pillars to a certain degree:

  1. Business Culture.
  2. Business Strategy.
  3. Available Business Technology.
In such a way that this process could be started over, but with new challenges to solve and new growth approaches.
